This bill requires all public and nonpublic primary and secondary schools to establish written policies and procedures to protect student privacy, ensuring parents or guardians can access and review student records, and that personal identifying information is not disclosed without consent unless legally permitted, while also mandating that nonpublic prekindergarten programs and nonpublic primary and secondary schools report annually to the State Department of Education on incidents of alleged discrimination based on race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability, including details about the type of discrimination, the complainant, and the alleged offender, with the Department then compiling this data into a report for the Governor and General Assembly.
