This bill requires the annual report on the Abortion Care Clinical Training Program, referred to as the "Program," to include recommendations on how the state can ensure enough healthcare professionals are available to provide abortion care. Additionally, it mandates that the Maryland Insurance Commissioner collect specific financial data from insurers, nonprofit health service plans, and health maintenance organizations regarding segregated accounts established under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) and related federal regulations. The Commissioner must then submit a report on this aggregated data to the Senate Finance Committee and the House Health Committee by January 1st each year, using data from the calendar year two years prior to the report's due date.
