This joint resolution proposes an amendment to the Iowa Constitution to restrict corporate involvement in politics, stating that corporations should not participate in election activities, ballot issue campaigns, or make financial donations to political candidates or committees, as such activities are not considered necessary for their core business purposes; however, this restriction would not apply to corporations whose business is specifically creating, selling, or operating election equipment, and this proposed amendment would be published and then sent to the next elected General Assembly for approval before being put to a vote of the people.
