This bill establishes a workgroup under the Department of Information Technology to oversee the replacement of the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) mainframe system, which is a critical, outdated computer system used to manage Medicaid services. The workgroup is also tasked with providing regular progress reports to legislative committees and will consult with experts as needed. The bill also specifies that the legislation will take effect on June 1, 2026, and will be automatically repealed on June 30, 2030.
