This reporting requirement will apply even if the federal government stops collecting this data. The bill defines an "employer" as a private sector entity conducting business in the state with at least 100 employees, specifically excluding government entities, school districts, and state higher education institutions. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2027, but is subject to a public referendum.
