Previously, personal watercraft could not be operated between one hour before sunset and 9:30 a.m., but this bill changes the restriction to between one hour before sunset and 8:00 a.m., meaning personal watercraft can be used starting at 8:00 a.m. instead of 9:30 a.m. The bill also retains existing regulations regarding the use of personal watercraft, such as requiring wearable personal flotation devices approved by the United States Coast Guard (USCG), operating at slow-no wake speeds near shorelines or other watercraft, and ensuring safety features like engine cutoff switches are properly attached.
