This concurrent resolution congratulates Michelin North America, Inc. on the 65th anniversary of its BFGoodrich tire production facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana, which began operations in 1961. The resolution acknowledges the historical significance of both the BFGoodrich company, a pioneer in tire manufacturing since the late 1800s, and Michelin, a global leader in tire production that acquired BFGoodrich in 1990. It highlights Michelin's ongoing commitment to Fort Wayne, recognizing the company as an outstanding corporate citizen that has contributed millions of dollars and thousands of volunteer hours to its communities, provided economic growth and manufacturing careers for generations, and currently employs over 1,500 people at the Fort Wayne plant. The Indiana General Assembly expresses its appreciation for Michelin's dedication to serving the people of Indiana, and a copy of this resolution will be sent to the director of the Fort Wayne plant.
