This bill establishes "Panhellenic special plates" for vehicles in Minnesota, allowing eligible fraternities and sororities to have custom license plates featuring their emblems, mottos, or inscriptions. The bill also outlines procedures for transferring these special plates to another vehicle owned by the same individual and specifies that these plates are exempt from certain other special plate provisions. The funds collected are appropriated for administrative costs and then distributed to the affiliated charitable foundations based on the number of plates issued for each design, with the stipulation that the money must be used for charitable purposes aligned with the organization's mission. This new law will take effect on January 1, 2027.
