This bill amends cannabis law to allow microbusiness licensees, which are businesses authorized to conduct retail sales of adult-use cannabis and are also permitted to process and cultivate it, to fulfill the requirements for a cannabis showcase event permit. Previously, businesses applying for such a permit had to partner with separate licensed cultivators and processors. Now, a microbusiness that is authorized for both retail sales and cultivation/processing can act as its own cultivator and processor for the event, or it can serve as the cultivator and/or processor for another licensee applying for a permit, as long as the microbusiness is authorized for those specific activities. This change aims to streamline the process for microbusinesses participating in cannabis showcase events.
