It amends the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 to ensure that identity protection coverage is available for the entire lifetime of affected individuals, not just a limited period, and mandates that this coverage includes at least $5 million in identity theft insurance. Furthermore, the bill allows federal agencies, starting in fiscal year 2026 and beyond, to use their appropriated funds to reimburse their employees or contractors' employees for up to 100% of the costs associated with privacy-enhancing services, which are defined as technologies or processes designed to reduce privacy risks by minimizing or removing personal information.
