This bill amends Florida Statutes section 1002.33 concerning charter schools by adding new provisions that limit the duration of contracts for both charter school employees and for the operation of charter schools by educational service providers or vendors. Specifically, these contracts cannot extend beyond the term of the charter school's own charter contract, and they must include a clause stating that if the charter school closes, any remaining portion of the contract becomes void, and the employee or service provider will not be compensated beyond the date of closure. These new rules apply to contracts entered into on or after July 1, 2013, and a violation of these provisions by a charter school is considered a valid reason for the closure of that school.
