This bill amends Florida law regarding the distribution of fees collected from the sale of the "Florida Salutes Veterans" specialty license plate. Specifically, it increases the portion of the annual use fee that goes to a direct-support organization, defined as an organization created under section 292.055 of Florida Statutes, from ten percent to twenty percent. Any remaining fees will continue to be deposited into the State Homes for Veterans Trust Fund, which is managed by the Department of Veterans' Affairs and used for constructing, operating, and maintaining homes for veterans, as well as for promoting and marketing the license plate. This change is intended to provide more funding to the direct-support organization for its activities related to veterans.
