This bill makes several changes to Florida's healthcare laws, primarily focusing on the designation and operation of trauma centers. It allows public health trusts, which are governmental entities responsible for healthcare facilities, to lease office space more easily and gives them more discretion in hiring legal counsel. The bill also repeals certain provisions related to legislative findings and intent concerning trauma care, and it modifies requirements for trauma plan components, the department's authority to set verification standards for trauma centers, and the criteria for state regional trauma plans.
