This bill requires the Commissioner of Education to create an annual report detailing student access to and involvement in fine arts courses, which include visual arts, music, dance, and theatre. The report will also cover information about the teachers providing instruction in these subjects, their qualifications (certification status), the facilities available for fine arts education, and how schools are delivering the core curriculum for these arts as outlined in the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards, a set of educational guidelines for Florida. This report will be made public on the Department of Education's website and updated each year, with the changes taking effect on July 1, 2014.
