This bill establishes a pilot project to allow overseas voters, specifically those in military service on active duty and their eligible family members, to vote in certain elections using the Internet. The project will cover the primary and general elections in the year it takes effect, and the Secretary will provide public notice and information to eligible voters. Following the general election, the Secretary must report to the Governor and Legislature with recommendations on whether to continue, expand, or permanently adopt Internet voting for overseas voters. Funding for this initiative will be appropriated from the General Fund, and the act will become effective on January 1st following its enactment and expire after the required report is submitted.
