This bill amends Florida Statute 402.56 to revise the membership of the Children and Youth Cabinet, increasing its total membership from 14 to 15 individuals. The cabinet will now include the Governor, the Secretaries of Children and Family Services and Juvenile Justice, the directors of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities and the Office of Early Learning, the State Surgeon General, the Secretary of Health Care Administration, the Commissioner of Education, the director of the Statewide Guardian Ad Litem Office, and the director of the Office of Child Abuse Prevention. Additionally, the bill adds a superintendent of schools, appointed by the Governor, and maintains five members representing children and youth advocacy organizations who are not service providers and are also appointed by the Governor.
