This bill designates September 11th of each year as "September 11 Remembrance Day" in New Jersey to honor the victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks and recognize the bravery of first responders and other citizens who risked their lives to help. The bill encourages local governments and patriotic organizations to hold public ceremonies, and mandates that all American and State flags in New Jersey be flown at half-staff on this day. Additionally, students and staff in public schools are required to observe a one-minute period of silence at 10 AM on September 11th, with the observance shifted to the closest school day if September 11th falls on a weekend or holiday.
