This bill allows individuals who have been awarded the Bronze Star medal, as verified by their DD-214 form or Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, to obtain special license plates for their vehicles. These distinctive plates will feature the words "Bronze Star" and the Bronze Star emblem, in addition to the standard registration information. There will be an additional fee of $15 for these special plates, which will be used to cover the cost of production. The bill also permits the surviving spouse of a Bronze Star recipient to retain these special plates for their own registered vehicle. The chief administrator of the relevant state agency is authorized to establish rules and regulations for the issuance and use of these plates, and the law will become effective seven months after it is enacted.
