This bill amends Section 7A of Chapter 271 of the General Laws to allow charitable organizations that conduct raffles (games of chance where prizes are awarded based on a random drawing) and bazaars (temporary markets or sales, often for fundraising) to hire outside staff, such as paid dealers and game supervisors, to help run these events. This is permitted as long as these hired individuals are not members of the sponsoring organization and are paid a reasonable fee, and crucially, only qualified members of the sponsoring organization are allowed to handle any money collected or paid out during the raffle or bazaar, ensuring financial oversight remains with the charity itself.
