This bill directs the State-Saugus retirement board to retire John Coburn, a police officer in the town of Saugus, who is completely and permanently unable to continue his duties due to injuries sustained while working. He will receive a yearly pension equivalent to what he would have earned as a Saugus police sergeant at his current grade, effective the day after his last paid day. Additionally, the bill allows Joseph L. Bryson, III, John Coburn's stepson, to be treated as his son for placement on entry-level police officer eligible lists, provided he passes the necessary written and physical examinations for police service.
