This bill mandates that the Secretary of Housing and Economic Development, in collaboration with the Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs, will annually create a strategic report for Massachusetts' commercial fishing, shellfish, and seafood industries. This report will include an evaluation of the industry's current status and offer recommendations for actions to maintain and revitalize these sectors. To achieve this, the secretaries are encouraged to utilize the resources, such as laboratory, technical, educational, and research capabilities, of state institutions of higher learning.
