This bill amends existing Massachusetts law to establish consumer protection standards for those who resell sports and entertainment tickets, requiring licensed resellers to provide a toll-free number and email for inquiries, and to implement a clear refund policy. This policy must guarantee a full refund, including all fees paid except shipping, if an event is canceled and not rescheduled, the ticket is counterfeit, canceled by the issuer for reasons other than the consumer's fault, materially differs from its description, or is not delivered before the event unless the consumer is at fault. Resellers can require the return of the ticket and implement safeguards against abuse, but are permitted to offer even more generous consumer protections than these minimum requirements.
