This bill amends the existing "baby safe haven law," which allows individuals to safely surrender an unharmed newborn baby to designated locations without fear of prosecution. Specifically, it expands the list of safe surrender locations beyond hospitals, police departments, and manned fire stations to include any "designated facility" and also allows for surrender with an "emergency responder" (a term that seems to be implicitly defined by the context of the bill as someone responding to a 911 call) at an agreed-upon location after calling 911.
