This bill requires the Division of Medical Assistance, which administers the state's Medicaid program, to ensure that all contracted inpatient behavioral health providers receive annual rate adjustments. These adjustments must be at least equal to the medical component of the consumer price index, a measure of inflation for medical goods and services, for the most recently completed state fiscal year. This provision applies to providers contracted with the division directly or through various managed care entities like health insurers, health plans, health maintenance organizations, behavioral health management firms, and third-party administrators that are part of a Medicaid managed care organization or primary care clinician plan.
