This bill authorizes the town of Montague to issue one additional license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages to be consumed on the premises, specifically for the Montague Inn or its successors at 485 Federal Street. This is an exception to the general rules governing liquor licenses, as outlined in chapter 138 of the General Laws. The license, once issued, cannot be moved to a different location but can be transferred to a new applicant at the same location if the applicant is in good standing with the department of revenue and has paid all applicable taxes. If the license is canceled, revoked, or no longer in use, it will be returned to the licensing authority, which can then grant it to a new applicant at the same location under the same conditions.
