This bill requires that insurance policies, contracts, and plans delivered or renewed in the Commonwealth that cover colorectal cancer screenings or breast cancer screenings must not charge a deductible for initial screening procedures like colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, or mammograms, nor can they impose any coinsurance, copayment, deductible, or other out-of-pocket costs for any additional colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, or mammograms that a doctor orders for a patient within a policy year. This applies to various types of insurance, including standard insurance policies, hospital service plans, medical service agreements, health maintenance contracts, and coverage provided by the Group Insurance Commission for state employees.
