This bill extends existing sales tax exemptions to certain veteran's organizations by amending a section of the General Laws related to sales and use taxes. Specifically, it adds a reference to organizations recognized under section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Code to a list of entities already eligible for these exemptions, which previously only included organizations recognized under section 501(c)(3). This means that veteran's organizations that meet the criteria for 501(c)(19) status, which generally applies to war veterans' organizations, will now be able to benefit from the same sales tax exemptions previously available to other non-profit organizations.
