This bill aims to clarify and standardize corporate filing requirements by ensuring that no extra fees, or surcharges, are added based on how a company chooses to pay its filing fees, whether by check, credit card, electronic transfer, or any other approved method. Specifically, it amends Section 3B of chapter 7 of the General Laws by adding language to prevent additional surcharges based on payment method, and it revises Section 63 of chapter 109 of the General Laws to set the annual report filing fee at $450, or an amount designated by the secretary, while also prohibiting surcharges based on payment method. Furthermore, it adds a new clause to Section 16.22 of chapter 156D of the General Laws, explicitly stating that no additional surcharge will be assessed for the annual report filing due to the payment method used, as long as that method is approved.
