This bill proposes to amend Chapter 94 of the General Laws by adding a new section that prohibits individuals involved in any aspect of food production, manufacturing, processing, storing, or offering food for consumption from using natural latex rubber gloves or utensils containing natural rubber latex, which are materials derived from rubber trees. The Department of Health is empowered to enforce this prohibition, and establishments or vendors found in violation after proper notification and a chance to be heard could face civil penalties of up to $500, in addition to other penalties applicable to their industry, including the potential loss of their licenses.
