This bill amends Section 23V of Chapter 112 of the General Laws to allow certain employees of Massachusetts durable medical equipment companies to perform specific tasks related to positive airway pressure (PAP) equipment and supplies for home care patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. Specifically, employees who have completed at least 500 hours of training in PAP equipment and supplies under the supervision of a Massachusetts licensed Respiratory Therapist may deliver, set up, and maintain this equipment and its supplies. This exemption is intended to streamline care for sleep apnea patients but explicitly excludes employees from performing clinical assessments, evaluations, or interventions on these patients.
