Additionally, the bill revises the definition of "designated offense" to encompass a wider range of crimes, including those related to organized crime like arson, bribery, and drug offenses, as well as certain violent crimes, violations of drug laws (Chapter 94C), and various firearm-related offenses and license violations, thereby enhancing the scope of criminal investigations.
