This bill strengthens the anti-bullying law by modifying existing procedures for reporting and responding to bullying incidents in schools. Specifically, it amends the law to require school principals or their equivalents to immediately notify local law enforcement to determine if criminal charges should be pursued against a perpetrator, rather than just notifying them if criminal charges "may be pursued." Additionally, the bill introduces a new provision that makes the school district where the victim attends responsible for the cost of transportation if it's determined to be in the victim's best interest to transfer to a different school district, following an agreement between the school district, a collaborative school, and the victim's parents or guardian.
