This bill establishes the Massachusetts Alzheimer's Project within the executive office of health and human services to accelerate the development of treatments, create an integrated state plan to combat Alzheimer's disease, coordinate care for individuals with the disease, ensure the inclusion of at-risk ethnic and racial populations to reduce health disparities, coordinate with federal bodies, and provide information and coordination of research and services across state agencies. The project will be responsible for creating, updating, and evaluating the state plan, which will include an annual assessment of the state's progress and recommendations for priority actions. Additionally, an advisory council on Alzheimer's disease research and treatment will be established, composed of various designees from state agencies, patient advocates, caregivers, healthcare providers, researchers, and representatives from voluntary health associations, to advise the project on state policy and provide an annual report on research, care programs, outcomes, and the updated state plan.
