This bill, the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park Boundary Adjustment Act of 2015, modifies the official boundary of the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park in Georgia to officially include approximately eight acres of land containing the Wallis House and Harriston Hill, which are historically significant sites related to Union positions during the Civil War battle. The Secretary of the Interior, who oversees national parks, is authorized to acquire this land or any rights to it, but only through voluntary means such as donations or land exchanges with willing sellers; the bill explicitly prohibits the use of eminent domain, also known as condemnation, to force the acquisition of this property. Any land acquired will be managed as part of the existing park, and the inclusion of any private property requires the explicit written consent of its owner.
