This bill requires the Office of Economic and Demographic Research and the Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability (OPPAGA) to periodically analyze the medical tourism marketing plan, and mandates Enterprise Florida, Inc., in collaboration with the Department of Economic Opportunity, to promote Florida as a health care destination. It also extends sovereign immunity, which is a legal protection that shields government entities and their employees from lawsuits, to include employees or agents of a health care provider that contracts with a governmental contractor to provide services to low-income individuals, ensuring they are treated as agents of the government for legal purposes in such cases.
