This bill directs the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV), Florida's agency responsible for vehicle registration and driver licensing, to create a "Sun Sea Smiles" specialty license plate. A new annual use fee of $25 will be established for this plate, and the collected fees will be distributed to several organizations, including the Florida Caribbean Charitable Foundation, Inc., for marketing, college scholarships, health and wellness programs for Florida residents of Caribbean descent, and cultural awareness initiatives. Additionally, funds will go to the American Friends of Jamaica, Inc. for social and community development grants, and to Haitian Neighborhood Center Sant La, Inc., Fanm Ayisyen Nan Miyami, Inc., and Greater Caribbean American Cultural Coalition, Inc. for social and community development and cultural awareness. A portion of the fees will also support the Little Haiti Optimist Foundation, Inc. for cultural awareness and youth development.
