This bill directs the Commissioner of Transportation to officially name the bridge that crosses the Shrewsbury River in Monmouth County on State Highway Route 36 as the "Captain Joseph Azzolina Memorial Bridge," honoring Captain Joseph Azzolina for his service in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserves, his business achievements, and his time as a member of the New Jersey Senate and General Assembly. The Commissioner is also authorized to put up signs with this new name, but crucially, no state or public funds will be used for the signs; instead, the Department of Transportation can accept private donations, grants, or financial assistance from non-governmental organizations to cover the costs of producing, purchasing, erecting, and maintaining these signs, and no work will begin until an agreement is in place with a private party to pay for these expenses.
