This bill authorizes the commissioner of capital asset management and maintenance, in consultation with the department of state police, to transfer approximately 5.2 acres of land in Grafton to the Massachusetts State Police Museum and Learning Center, Inc., for a nominal fee, for the purpose of establishing and operating a museum and learning center. This transfer is permitted despite existing laws that typically govern the sale of state property, and the deed must specify that the land will only be used for museum and learning center activities, with the Commonwealth retaining the right to reclaim the property if this condition is not met, after providing notice and an opportunity to correct the issue. The bill also allows for the granting of a permanent easement over a portion of the land to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for antenna purposes, also for a nominal fee, with the recipient organization responsible for all associated costs and maintenance.
