This Joint Resolution establishes the second Friday of December each year as "PSRPs in Our Schools Day" in New Jersey, a designation intended to honor the vital contributions of Paraprofessionals and School-Related Personnel (PSRPs). PSRPs encompass a wide range of essential school staff, including instructional aides who provide one-on-one tutoring and classroom support, as well as non-instructional staff like bus drivers, cafeteria workers, custodians, and maintenance personnel. These individuals play a crucial role in student success by assisting with learning, ensuring student safety during non-instructional times, facilitating communication between students, teachers, and parents, and maintaining a positive and functional school environment, all of which enable educators to be more effective. The resolution formally recognizes and commends PSRPs for their tireless dedication and encourages all New Jersey citizens to participate in observing this special day.
