This bill amends Section 178E of Chapter 6 of the General Laws to require a sex offender who moves into the Commonwealth from another jurisdiction to register with the Sex Offender Registry Board within two days of moving into the Commonwealth. The registration information, including the sex offender's name, date of birth, home and work addresses, and details about any secondary addresses or places of residence, will be transmitted to the police departments in the municipalities where the sex offender intends to live and work, as well as to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Additionally, if the sex offender is granted a hearing challenging their classification, the Registry Board will continue to transmit the most current registration and classification data to the relevant authorities.
