This bill seeks to amend Chapter 175 of the General Laws by adding a new Section 4F. The key provisions of this bill are: 1. It defines "residential property" as a 1 to 4 unit dwelling used for living or sleeping. 2. It requires the Joint Underwriting Association and insurers licensed to write homeowners' insurance to make available first-party property coverage for response action costs incurred in response to a negligent release of petroleum from an underground storage tank on the insured's property. This coverage must have a minimum of $10,000 per occurrence, subject to a deductible not exceeding $1,000 per claim. 3. The first-party property coverage includes the costs to assess and remediate the petroleum release as well as any associated personal property damage.
