This bill amends North Carolina's veterinary practice law to exempt farriers and others engaged in the profession of shoeing or trimming hooved animals from the requirement to be licensed as veterinarians, as long as their actions are limited to those tasks. The bill also requires the state's Veterinary Division to study the practice of veterinary pharmaceutical compounding, including reviewing current regulations and making recommendations for any additional legislation needed to protect animals and provide oversight of compounding activities.
