This bill prohibits employers from making deductions from an employee's wages, except for those deductions authorized or required by law, or expressly authorized in writing by the employee. It also prohibits employers from deducting wages for reasons such as spoilage, breakage, shortages, losses, or fines and penalties for tardiness, misconduct, or quitting without notice. Employers who violate these provisions are subject to treble (triple) damages payable to the employee.
