This bill exempts certain individuals and vehicles from paying tolls on Florida's toll facilities. It allows law enforcement officers, firefighters, rescue vehicles, and vehicles participating in the funeral procession of a law enforcement officer or firefighter killed in the line of duty to pass through toll gates without paying. It also provides an exemption for persons with severe physical disabilities that substantially impair their ability to deposit coins in toll baskets. The bill gives the Department of Transportation the authority to suspend toll payments during emergency evacuations and to allow the use of toll facilities by public transit vehicles or vehicles participating in a funeral procession for an active-duty military service member without payment of tolls.
