At BillTrack50, our mission has always been to make legislative and regulatory information as accessible as possible. As we enter 2025, we're thrilled to announce a major enhancement to our regulation tracking capabilities.
Throughout 2024, our team worked to find a way to "chop up" the Federal Register and State Bulletins into individual documents for each regulation. This foundational achievement now enables us to implement a series of powerful improvements to our regulation tracking service, bringing it up to par with our renowned bill tracking functionality.
AI-Powered Summaries: Making Regulations Instantly Comprehensible
The first major upgrade, already implemented, is the introduction of AI-generated summaries for all regulations and associated regulator notices. Just as we've done with bills, these summaries appear at the top of each regulation page, providing users with an immediate understanding of the regulation or notice's purpose and impact.
Enhanced Filtering and Organization
Over the coming months, we'll be rolling out additional features that will transform how you interact with regulatory information. These improvements include:
- Advanced query options for regulation type, status, and agency
- Additional columns in regulation sheets for critical dates such as comment deadlines and effective dates
- One row per regulatory document in regulation sheets
- AI-powered features like similar regulation suggestions
- Enhanced filtering and organization capabilities
- Better ability to track legislation through the rulemaking process from intent to proposed to final.
These upgrades address the limitations many of our users have experienced with our previous regulation tracking system, creating a more robust and user-friendly experience that mirrors the sophistication of our bill tracking service.
Why This Matters
At BillTrack50, we've always strived to make legislative and regulatory information as accessible as possible. This upgrade represents a significant step forward in that mission. By bringing the same level of analysis to regulation tracking that we've provided for bill tracking, we're making it easier for professionals, organizations, and citizens to:
- Stay current with regulatory changes
- Better understand regulatory content through AI summaries
- Organize and track regulatory information more efficiently
Plan ahead with improved deadline tracking
Important Changes to Historical Data
To implement these improvements, we'll need to make some changes to our historical regulation coverage. Specifically, regulations dated before January 1, 2024, will be phased out of the system in the coming months. While there's no immediate rush, we encourage users to begin thinking about which historical data they'll need to preserve and to export any pre-2024 regulation information they wish to retain. Our support team is standing by to assist with the data export process and address any concerns about these upcoming changes. We'll continue to send reminders before any data is removed to ensure everyone has ample time to prepare for this transition.
Your Partner in Democracy
As we've always maintained, BillTrack50 doesn't just provide tools – we're your partner in democracy. This regulation tracking upgrade represents our continued commitment to making government information more accessible and actionable. Whether you're a professional needing to track complex regulatory changes or a citizen wanting to stay informed, our enhanced platform will help you navigate the regulatory landscape more effectively.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to roll out these exciting new features. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions as we work to make BillTrack50 an even more powerful tool for democratic participation.
