For bills, we cover all 50 states, DC City Council, and Congress with historical data back to 2011. For regulations, we cover all 50 states and federal. Our regulation data is from 2024 onwards.
Yes, our Citizen tier is free - just sign up. The Citizen tier allows you to search legislation in current sessions from all 50 states, D.C. and Congress and read the bills. You can also search all current legislators across the country and see the bills they have sponsored and their voting record. Finally, you can search for committees across the country and see the membership and bills in the committee. It also includes some AI tools such as bill summaries and the similar bills feature. The Citizen tier is designed for people who are interested in research; either a specific bill or bills, or particular legislators or committees. It DOES NOT allow you to save and track legislation, get alerts, use our sharing tools, or create legislator scorecards. If you want to track legislation over time, conduct historical research into legislation going back to 2011, get daily alerts on changes, or create scorecards then you will need a subscription. You will also need a subscription to find and track regulations.

Yes. Single-state legislation tracking starts at $1,000/year or $84/month. Each additional state costs $1,000/year until you reach the maximum of $5,000 which is the cost for the full national tracking service. Regulation tracking works in the same way, with each state costing $500/year.
You will automatically revert back to a citizen account. You will no longer be able to access your saved searches and any content you have added to your website will stop working. If you later choose to subscribe, everything you created during your free trial will be waiting for you.
We keep our pricing low for everyone; we don’t offer special pricing for certain organizations. However if you are a student working on a project, please reach out to us and we can discuss.
All our subscriptions are for a full year, but you can choose to pay monthly or annually. For annual payment, you can pay by credit card immediately or generate an invoice to pay later by credit card, check, or ACH. For monthly payments, you will need to pay by credit card.
It won’t be possible to change billing during the subscription period. You can choose to switch from annual to monthly billing or vice versa at the end of your subscription period
As part of the subscription process you will be able to choose whether to let your subscription auto renew at the end of the year. You can change this setting at any time.
All BillTrack50 subscriptions are for a full year, so it isn’t possible to subscribe for just a few months.
If you wish to cancel your subscription partway through the year, then contact us to discuss.
