This bill allows some Mainers between the ages of 16 and 18 to access needed, non-surgical gender-affirming health care without parental consent or legally emancipating themselves from their parents, under specific circumstances. The patient must have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria by a healthcare professional and be likely to experience harm if they don't receive care. This bill passed in the House and Senate and Gov. Mills signed it into law.
