This bill authorizes the town of Montague to grant an additional liquor license for the sale of wines and malt beverages to be consumed on the premises. The license is subject to the provisions of Chapter 138 of the General Laws, except for the restriction on the number of licenses under Section 17. The license cannot be transferred to a different location, but it can be granted to a new applicant at the same location if certain tax and fee requirements are met. If the license is cancelled, revoked, or no longer in use, it must be returned to the licensing authority, which can then grant it to a new applicant at the same location. The license must be issued within 2 years of the effective date of the bill, but if granted within that time period, it can be transferred to a new applicant at any time thereafter.
