This bill authorizes the town of Montague to grant one additional license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages to be consumed on the premises. The license can only be exercised in the dining room of a common victualler (a restaurant or other establishment that serves food) and other reasonable public areas. The license cannot be transferred to a different location, but it can be granted to a new applicant at the same location if the applicant is in good standing with the relevant state departments. If the license is cancelled, revoked, or no longer in use, it must be returned to the licensing authority, which can then grant it to a new applicant under the same conditions. The license must be issued within 2 years of the effective date of the act, but if it is originally granted within that time, it can be granted to a new applicant at any time thereafter.
