This bill restricts level two and three sex offenders from residing within 1,500 feet of their victims' residences. The bill creates a new section in the correction law that makes it unlawful for such offenders to knowingly live within 1,500 feet of their victims' homes, and this restriction remains in effect as long as the offender is classified as a level two or three sex offender. The bill also provides an affirmative defense if the victim established their residence within 1,500 feet of the offender after the offense, and it prohibits the disclosure of any victim's address to the sex offender. Violations of this law will result in a class E felony.
